I love getting out into nature and it's where I feel most alive. "The Waterfall Hunters" are what me and my family call ourselves as we love finding new waterfalls to explore, swimming holes to dive in or beaches to surf at. I also love the wide range of gear that allows us to travel further and eat and drink better while we are out exploring. It's not as expensive but it's also not as good both in terms of build quality and performance. When it comes down to it Ozark Trail is a cheaper rip-off of the Yeti Hopper series of coolers. The Yeti coolers are all equipped with tie down straps so you can strap down your cooler to your car, van, truck or boat and make sure it doesn't move around at all. We purchased four bags of ice – two for each cooler – and got started. The Ozark Trail held ice one day longer than the Coleman and in general, the cooler felt cooler inside than the Coleman. Unfortunately, the deal breaker is that it intermittently leaked water from the drain spout. There are two on the small one and 4 on the medium and large ones. Next, we have the anti-skid feet, which protect your tabletop from your super-heavy cooler. Overall the Pelican coolers have sharper edges and a bit more of an industrial feel than the competition. One of the first things to note about it’s design is that it has a larger drainage hole and a tethered drain cap, which is a nice feature. I have lost a couple of drain caps in my day which makes the cooler unusable until a replacement arrives. This cooler, when compared to the Pelican 45Q Elite and Yeti Tundra, has the smallest profile while still providing 45Q internal storage. It features rubber latches which I am a huge fan of for boating applications.
